IDA - Foreign Direct Investment
In May 2018, Christine Traynor, Chairperson of Edenderry & Local District Chamber of Commerce met with Ken Whitelaw to discuss the regions future in terms of Foreign Direct Investment. The Chamber welcomes the IDA’s commitment to the entire region and continues to develop Edenderry's Profile to ensure it is included in future presentations made by the IDA to potential FDI's.
The Chamber are actively pursuing opportunities for the North-East of Offaly and we need to ensure that Edenderry continues to be considered for future investment. Edenderry Chamber sought the opportunity to meet with the IDA representative and are extremely pleased with how the discussions went. As the business representative body in the region, it is keen to garner commitments which are advantageous to the area in achieving its potential economic success. The IDA have ambitious plans to develop the Midland region, to attract investment to the region and the chamber want to ensure that Edenderry registers highly on the list of potential locations especially being a stone's throw from the Capital.
The Chamber will offer support in attracting investment, it is important to stress that the Chamber need to make it easy for businesses to choose Edenderry as a prime investment location.
