BRANDING EDENDERRY

A Gateway to the Hidden Heartlands

A brand is a perception. It is what people think of the Town and the Area. Since the Launch one of the most important functions of the Chamber has to be in creating a positive impression of the Town. It’s not what we say we are, but it’s how investors, developers, the local authority, national government and potential members of the community, homeowners, workers perceive us to be.

An important feature of brand development is that our mindset must change, and therefore we shall hope to encourage others to change theirs. In developing a brand, we have an important role to play. Encouraging a sense of  'CIVIC PRIDE'.

Each municipal government have their idea as to the direction their community will take which is great but, too often that vision was created by only a handful of people. If we proceed down that path into the future, the town will never progress.

Through VISION-2030 we will gather opinions from the wider community whilst also having a fuller understanding of what Investors and Developers require from an ‘emerging-town’, like Edenderry.

We identify our assets and we correlate enough data to promote the Town in a fluid and focused way. Our vision must fall in line with those of the people we are looking to attract to our town as well as with current residents.

The point of branding is to create an emotional connection, so each initiative shall seamlessly connect to one another even if at the start they appear to be separate. One key thing to remember during our brand development is to try work with local politicians, after all they are signing off on the Local Plans which effect are future strategic development.
